Extra Activities

There are many extra opportunities for the children to become involved with activities that are run out of school hours by staff or parents. Some of these include Rippa Rugby, Miniball, T-Ball, Netball, Futsal and Choir. Details including costings will be sent out in newsletters.

All children will have swimming and aquatics teaching as part of the school programme. If children are to be excused for medical reasons a note must be sent to the classroom teacher. Our pool is operated to very strict health guidelines and we put emphasis on learning ‘Swimsafe’ techniques and water safety, so please make sure your child has their swimming togs and towel on swimming days.
Juniors,Middle and Senior swimming is held at main site in Term 4 and instruction is provided by Jill Clark Swim School.

We have various types of assemblies. Assemblies are a great opportunity for students to share their work and skills and to develop their skill of public speaking. School Assemblies are run by students. Two ‘Whole School Assemblies’ are scheduled for each term. These will incorporate Duffy Assemblies where possible.Additional Whole School Assemblies may be required for special occasions or events. Whole School Assemblies are scheduled for Friday’s commencing at 2:20 pm.

Duffy Books in Home Programme

In Terms 1, 2 & 3 students will receive two free books from the Duffy Books in Homes Programme. This programme is funded by Scholastic NZ and our Board of Trustees. The book selection will arrive early each term and each class will be timetabled to view the books.
